La
Tavola is a neighborhood Italian restaurant that serves
simple yet creative cuisine primarily from southern
Italy. The restaurant is intimate, cozy, fun and energetic—the
kind of food you could eat for a special occasion or
every day.
Exposed brick, dark wood floors, rustic colors and an
open kitchen capture the flavor of a classic Italian
trattoria. An extensive award-winning wine list and
classic dishes made from the finest traditional ingredients
and unpretentious, connected service complete the experience.
La Tavola is open for dinner seven days a week and Sunday
brunch can be enjoyed either inside the restaurant or
on our patio.
Executive Chef Craig Richards
Craig Richards was named executive chef at La
Tavola Trattoria in May 2005. He comes to Fifth Group
Restaurants after gaining five years of training under
the renowned first lady of Italian cuisine, Lidia Bastianich.
Bastianich, an acclaimed restaurateur and cookbook author
with her own PBS cooking series, has provided Richards
with invaluable knowledge of the Italian-American kitchen.
Craig began his culinary career in 1998 at Pachamama’s
Restaurant in Kansas and from there, he took the culinary
world by storm at Lidia’s Kansas City working
his way up from senior line cook to sous chef. In 2001,
Richards moved to Pittsburgh to open Lidia's in Pittsburgh
as Executive Chef.
